Snowdon Lilies - Sold
The Welsh name for this rare wild flower is 'Brwynddail y Mynydd', which translates as 'rush leaves of the mountain'. Britain's rarest plant can only be found in out of the way crags on Snowdon Mountain. The delicate white flowers bloom in late May and early June, its thin leaves are like blades of grass.
Originally known as mountain spiderwort, this ice-age relic is an endangered species. A victim of global warming, it is believed that this could be the first plant to become extinct in Britain.
