Marsh Flowers & Dragonflies

I like to watch the dragonfly as it hovers and glides over my wildlife garden.

Walking over the Gronant Marshes early on a summer morning also gives glimpses of these lovely, delicate fairy tale creatures.

Brwynddail y Mynydd - Snowdon Lillies

The Welsh name for this rare wild flower is 'Brwynddail y Mynydd', which translates as 'rush leaves of the mountain'.

Britain's rarest plant can only be found in out of the way crags on Snowdon Mountain.  The delicate white flowers bloom in late May and early June, its thin leaves are like blades of grass.

Originally known as mountain spiderwort, this ice-age relic is an endangered species.  A victim of global warming, it is believed that this could be the first plant to become extinct in Britain.

Art Studio

I am a self taught artist, my work has been evolving over several years with my own unique style. Using vibrant colour with plenty of texture, which is derived not only from the paint itself but the myriad of tools I use in its’ application. One of my favourite mediums is acrylic, however I do like to explore other possibilities with a variety of other mediums.

From a visual perspective some features of the painting may be more apparent to the viewer. For me personally having had congenital cataracts, I find the dimension of texture helps me to focus on the painting’s composition or creation. Texture and colour are important components to my work, whether it is the paint or the surface painted, I like texture and I gravitate towards colour.
