Gannets' Gannetry

These monogamous birds are our largest seabird, the Gannet has a six foot wingspan.

Over half of the worlds Gannet population can be found in the seas around our island.

Marvel as they hover over a shoal of fish, turning and folding their wings before plummeting headfirst into the sea.

Mother's Day Flowers

With Covid restrictions in place giving flowers to Mother's on their day was a difficult task to do in person, especially as my mother was quarantined at home with Covid, so I painted colourful flowers that could be enjoyed forever.

I like to watch the dragonfly as it hovers and glides over my wildlife garden.


Walking over the Gronant Marshes early on a summer morning also gives glimpses of these lovely, delicate fairy tale creatures.

Brwynddail y Mynydd - Snowdon Lillies

The Welsh name for this rare wild flower is 'Brwynddail y Mynydd', which translates as 'rush leaves of the mountain'.


Britain's rarest plant can only be found in out of the way crags on Snowdon Mountain. The delicate white flowers bloom in late May and early June, its thin leaves are like blades of grass.


Originally known as mountain spiderwort, this ice-age relic is an endangered species. A victim of global warming, it is believed that this could be the first plant to become extinct in Britain.

Cormorant

This large heavy set seabird has a long almost reptilian thick neck.


With its heavy hooked bill, it makes an ideal fisherman.

These agile birds are a joy to watch as they glide and manoeuvre in the sky feeding on insects.

The dogs frequently have a swallow escort when they run through a summertime meadow, they must usher up an 'all you can eat buffet' for the birds to feast on...
